i feel like im back at square one again.
confused.
i have been good lately i guess, no complaints i guess.
i work alot, like fourty hours a week. For awhile there i
was playing alot too. going out to bars, drinking like
mad making friends.. just having fun. i kinda burnt out
and became semi homeless. right now im staying at my
friend julias house until i either move back into the dorms
or i move into a place with my best friend drew and my
friends issabelle and zack.
im just tired, lonely and homesick..
im missing good conversation.

Today we were supposed to go to Ontario Place but it rained and rained so we didn't go.
Today we were supposed to go to Laser Quest but I told my parents I'd study for the LSAT so I didn't go.

Today I am the proud new owner of this:
It is a Fujifilm Finepix S1000 fd. Looks like an SLR-wannabe but it's really just an extended zoom/"bridge" camera that allows you to control shutter speed/aperture. I know absolutely nothing about photography so I will be playing with these features minimally. My old camera, a Nikon Coolpix 5900 still technically works but I'd been having issues with importing photos and I hated the limited lighting/zoom options.
I'm pretty happy with it so far. Here are some semi-gross photos of the consequences of not shutting the front door behind you immediately after you step through it.

OM NOM NOM NOM.
Went to a new restaurant with ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) ryan_howse , as is our usual Friday thing. This time it was a place called Mojo, which specializes in "social dining" and fusion food. So, expensive, but the description is apt and delicious.
We had so much food and all of it was amazing.
Dishes included:
- curried chicken with jasmine rice
- yellow curry risotto with lemon grass
- shanghai noodles with mushrooms and spinach
- duck breast with szechuan sauce
- spring rolls with shiitake mushrooms and beef tenderloin
- garlic vegetables in hoisin sauce
- prawn coated in 4 peppers and salt with plum sauce (SO GOOD)
- chili, mango and shrip sushi rolls
- peking duck with oranges sushi rolls
- anise chocolate mousse
- lemongrass custard
- mango +sake cocktails
- lychee soda
- dim sum
And yes, we had all of that and more. The bill was pretty high but it was worth it.
although, I have to say, its probably better as a desert-and-drink stop-over, or for incredibly light dinners.
For those few of you on my friend's list who lived or have lived in Regina, it is on par with La Bodega.
For those of you who have never been to Regina, La Bodega is one of the hottest grill/bistro/martini bars in the city and is constantly overfull.
Tomorrow I am going to see The Dark Knight in Imax-or-close quality.
Lately I have been working on Flash tutorials, so there's been not much to post.
I'm going to go back to square 1 with my website design. I think a "one page" portfolio is really the only way to go about it, which means a far easier CMS schema.
I'm also working on a pamphlet for GBLUR. I had a bunch of neat ideas for them, but none of them really turned out in execution, so we moved with something a bit more direct, conceptually. I am totally fine with this.
I am about 50% packed for Toronto.
Items remaining: Clothing, PS2, Scanner, Router, Day-to-day sundries.

I don't know how many Shanghainese people/people who speak Shanghainese read my journal but the English word "vacation" sounds eerily similar to the phrase meaning "not happy" in Shanghainese.
I just finished booking hotels.
Here are the stops we're making:
-Ottawa, ON
-Quebec, QC
-Moncton, NB
-Cavendish, PEI
-Halifax, NS
-Saint John, NB
-Montreal, QC
We are going to Cavendish because my dad wants to see the Green Gables Heritage Site. If you're unsure of what that is, here is a helpful hint.
I think we're doing a lot of nature-oriented stuff (i.e. whale watching, Magnetic Hill) despite there being some pretty neat museums on the East coast but my mother doesn't have the attention span for that sort of thing.
I actually despite small towns. I'm half-hoping they'll forget me in Quebec and I'll just hitchhike my way to Montreal and camp out while they go disrespect Lucy Maud Montgomery's farm. Tell me, what does Atlantic Canada have to offer me besides seafood?

I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks yesterday. Fleet Foxes didn't show, those bastards. That guy talked a lot about how many girls he's fucked. I'm not exactly a prude but the count was more depressive than impressive.
On Monday, I randomly saw Boris because philthe25th had some friends with an extra ticket. It was intense. But not intense enough for them to be selling earplugs alongside the merch.
What do you guys think of my photos? I'm thinking I should get a new camera. I'd like a bridge digicam, something with a decent optical zoom but not $1000 and not the size of my head.

My brother & I are playing Resident Evil 4. It's been a lonnng time since I've played this game. I was watching E3 the other day, and I can't wait for RE5. March is so far away. =( Maybe I'll get LIVE by then. We'll see. Playing Live while in college? Probably not a good idea for me.
I'm annoyed, and I'll tell you why. I've been looking forward to The Dark Knight since Batman Begins came out. Now, I won't get to see it until four days after it comes out because I'm going to Michigan this weekend to visit family. Great planning, mom.
I am going to see Hellboy 2 tomorrow. del Toro ftw! It better be good.
I'm excited for Twilight the movie and for Breaking Dawn. I would love to reread all of the books before August first, but I doubt that will happen. I've got too many books on my list already.
